solar wind against the EU Wind: EWEA, no actual trading virtual
Brussels, 19 October 2007
The European Wind Energy Association opposes EU proposal to introduce a virtual trading of electricity "clean "
The European wind energy industry (EWEA) puts pressure on the European Commission for them to consider before deciding on the introduction of the" virtual market "of renewable energy, particularly electricity and green. With a string of 20 questions are asked, first, whether the Executive has made an analysis of the economic, since according to a German study the mechanism would lead to additional costs of € 100 billion. One wonders what were the studies and analysis on previous experience of cross-border trade of electricity and how you can avoid the side effects occurred. And, again, if Norway and Sweden have failed to establish a system of bilateral trade in green electricity, how can they reach an agreement 27 member states? The trade of electricity from renewable sources between Member States should be possible, according to EWEA, only after the achievement of national targets, given that all countries, diversifying the local resources, are able to obtain the target 20%. The industrialists believe that the possible development of international trade in electricity from renewable sources should not undermine the national support schemes, national objectives and therefore the potential for renewable energy at the level of individual states.
